Alleged ‘Yahoo Boy,’ Naira Marley Is Still In Prison
The management team of popular Nigerian singer, Naira Marley gives a press release on why Naira Marley is still under detention in Ikoyi Prison after he was granted bail by the court.
Naira Marley was granted bail on Thursday after he met the requirements of two million naira with two sureties, which was presided by Justice Nicholas Oweibo at the federal high court in Ikoyi, Lagos.
The judge stated that one of the sureties must be a working with Nigerian civil service and not below the rank of Grade Level 10 while the other surety must be a landed property owner in Lagos State, Nigeria.
However, on Thursday, rumours carried that the singer has not been able to present a surety not below Grade level 10 as requested by the judge and as such, Marley is still being detained at the prisons.
Meanwhile, in a post on Instagram, Naira Marley’s Management debunks the rumours flying around.
Marley’s Management claims that the singer is still under prison custody due to the fact that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC is yet to inspect and confirm the address presented by the surety.
Naira Marley’s Management writes: “Hello Nigerians let us be smart, not everything you hear or read you should believe, the surety has been ready from the day they granted him bail, but we gotta wait for EFCC to go confirm the sureties address.
“We are waiting for them to confirm and the court still needs to sign the release paper.
“To everyone talking rubbish your time will come.”
